Raw Shirasu bowl "Shirasu" is a specialty of Ibaraki Prefecture, which faces the Pacific Ocean. The specialty is not only the boiled “shirasu-don” but also the “raw shirasu-don” that uses fresh raw shirasu. It is only in Ibaraki prefecture that sardines are often used in seafood bowls. Oarai Town, which is close to Mito City, is a famous fishing ground. You can eat widely along the coastline such as Kita-Ibaraki City and Hitachi City in the north of the prefecture, and Hokota City, Kashima City, Kamisu City in the south of the prefecture.
